
Sure, you may well need one to get a job.
But a computer science grad that looks down upon a self-taught coder is like an MBA that looks down on a successful entrepreneur that has never formally studied business.
Both are blinded by their own arrogance.
You don’t need a degree to learn anything. You just need drive, a laptop and an internet connection, as the 13-year-old kid below, who’s building a bot for Slack, is trying to demonstrate.
Trying, because he hasn’t built it yet – but no better way to learn than by doing it.
